The Public Brewery will, once again, face off against four of our favourite Victorian Brewers in a five-way brewing shootout. For 2017 we've lined-up a brand new list of guest brewers, with Bad Shepherd, Fury and Son, Old Wives Ales, and 2 Brothers going head to head with our own head brewer, Brendan Guild. In the lead up to the event, each brewer will be given the task to produce a beer using one of our small-batch 50 litre kettles. With access to our store cupboard, their own toolbox, and the same base wort used by our brew-on-premise customers, they'll have to rely on their knowledge and creativity to create a brew worthy of the community's love and adoration. On event day, punters will be invited to sample and compare each of the five beers in a blind tasting before casting their vote to decide the 2017 winner. When the victor has been announced and the inevitable shameless bragging complete, local legends The Scrims will be kickin' out the jams from the brewery balcony, and the good times will roll on.
Ticket price includes event entry and a tasting of each of the five competing brews. Pots / pints of event beers available for sale after tastings are complete. The brewery kitchen will be open for tasty beer-matched snacks and meals all day.
